From Istanbul. I have actually a German degree from high school. Then I moved to Italy, still in here. It has been already six years in city of Milan:) I am a lover of languages.

Currently I am teaching my foreigner bf turkish basic grammar and useful words that he can use in daily conversations with confidence. I would start teaching Turkish by introducing the cultural background first. When it comes to speaking and linguistic structure, starting with general phonetics and particular sounds is the best to familiarize the learners. Then dialogues in different situations are contextualized for comprehension of meanings. Simple conjugations are usually easy to grasp, but I would postpone introducing compound times for later on.

Eventually, I believe each individual owns a unique way to perceive and process the feeling and structure of a language. So i would observe my student and make some modifications in my method accordingly. This is at least my humble opinion that settled so far.

Remember: Knowledge is an accumulative asset and it will always be there with you. It will open you doors you have never imagined it would!
