As an enthusiastic, committed and energetic teacher, I work to create a positive learning environment in the classroom by actively encouraging my students to participate. I feel that students learn best when they feel safe to express their ideas and ask questions with dignity and respect. II encourage my students to learn with approval and positive reinforcement. With each assignment, I will begin my appraisal by focusing on what a student has done well, showing how they have taken the lesson to heart with examples. When there are areas of improvement that need to be addressed I will show different ways of accomplishing a task in order to provide the student with different tools. In this manner a student who has not achieved a grade that shows full potential understands how he or she can improve.
