Hello, everyone!

My name is Svetlana. I teach English and Russian.

My favorite areas of language tutoring are speaking practice (because you can help a student overcome mental blockages and other insecurities that arise when they try to converse in another language), literary analysis (because I like to read and write + it helps students develop certain reading and critical thinking skills), and grammar practice (because explaining grammar rules the way every individual student can understand is a fun and rewarding challenge on its own). I have a master's degree in linguistics and language studies. Studying languages in general has given me a lot of insight into what constitutes a language and, therefore, how it can be taken apart and presented to any potential learner.
