Hello, my name is Yirka and I am 29 years old. I was born and raised in Antwerp, Belgium. My mother tongue is Flemish (Dutch).

For 5 years, I've been living in Kampala, Uganda. I enjoy this beautiful country and its culture.

In my spare time, I love to travel, meet new people, and try out food.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Education, allowing me to teach at a school. I'm having over 5 years of experience teaching young children and 2 years of experience monitoring, guiding, and supporting other teachers as a Head of Department. In 2021, I also obtained a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate.

When teaching, I first want to know the specific needs of an individual and their motives to learn a new language. I believe that learning a new language (or learning in general) has to be fun and interactive, no matter the level of education. Each language session will include some pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, exciting exercises, and conversations.
