Hi! I'm Mikiko.

I was born and raised in Nagano Japan. You might know Nagano from the snow monkeys bathing in a hot spring.

I have been teaching Japanese for over 15 years now.

I have taught students of various nationalities from 12 to 63 years old. I really enjoy meeting people through the Japanese language!

Based on my teaching experience, I have created an original program for beginners of Japanese to learn daily conversation necessary for traveling and living in Japan.

I have taught beginners, intermediates and advanced students and I always enjoy teaching. I love to travel. I love to eat. I love learning new skills. I’m easy going and friendly.

I can help you with: Pronunciation, vocabulary, Japanese slang, commonly used expressions, hiragana, katakana, kanji, conversational Japanese, travel Japanese and so on.

Conversational Japanese
This course is perfect for those who have studied grammar but are not confident in speaking. Students will decide on a theme and talk about it, or read and talk about images or simple picture books. Students will learn to become more confident in their speaking skills as they are asked to speak a lot!
Japanese for beginners
This course is designed to teach the basics of the Japanese language, including pronunciation, alphabet and grammar. Students will learn not only grammar, but also simple everyday phrases that can be used immediately.
JLPT
This course is specially designed to prepare students for the JLPT N5 to N2 exams. I will help the student to make a study plan until the exam and overcome the weak points such as grammar, Kanji, etc.
Intensive Japanese
This is an intensive course specialized for those who want to learn Japanese in a short period of time in order to travel around Japan, or for those who want to master the Japanese language necessary for daily life in order to move to Japan for work.
Business Japanese
This course is designed for students to learn phrases, vocabulary, and honorifics used in Japanese business situations through role-plays and practice. Students will also learn vocabulary and expressions necessary for their field of work.
General Japanese
The course focuses on conversations that take place among family members and friends. You will do lots of role-plays to get used to intonation, slang, etc.
