Hi! I'm Josh, and I'm from the U.S. and Switzerland. I enjoy hiking, playing football, and being outdoors - particularly in the mountains. I studied classical piano and math in college, and am particularly attracted to the logical progression that underlies much of mathematics.

I have 5 years of teaching experience at an international boarding school in both English and German, ranging from 7th Grade Pre-algebra up to 12th Grade Calculus and Swiss University Entrance Exam prep. I've taught classes ranging from 2-15 students in size, and have found that students are most successful when we can pinpoint exactly where they are getting stuck and focus on clear, step-by-step reasoning from that point forward, using whatever style works for them. I believe that math can be fun for anyone, but it has to make sense first! With that in mind, I tend to emphasize clarity and simplicity over any particular kind of fancy terminology or methodology in my teaching and tutoring.
