my name's Matthias, I am 30 years old and from the mountainous parts of Austria, close to the German and Swiss (and Liechtenstein) border.

I lived in Vienna for the last ten years, where I studied English and enjoyed one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Right now I am back in Vienna, but I am looking forward to travelling the world again and teaching from exotic spots.

I am a linguist by trade and a teacher by heart. Meaning, no matter if you are a beginner who wants to get the German basics down, freshen up on your conversational German, or venture down the rabbit hole of the grammatical structures, etymology, and other linguistic traits of German, I am your man.

I've been teaching all my life. I started at the age of 15 as a sailing teacher and English tutor. Took a little break in my 20ies and I continued as a volunteer teacher for underprivileged children and a conversational coach for Seniors. I have a Bachelor degree in English and American Studies and as of 2021 also a pedagogical degree.

I am an advocate for a student-centered and fun learning-environment where I taylor my lessons to the needs and foremost the interests of my students. After all, that's the beauty with learning a language, no topic is off topic.
