My name is Leila.

I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. My first language is Japanese, but I am quite fluent in English since I have lived in US as well. I was back in Tokyo during pandemic but I just got back to US this year.

I LOVE teaching Japanese and also its culture! I am good at teaching Japanese history too, so I would be happy to talk about it.

I currently teaching only long term learners.

I’ve been tutoring Japanese for 6years in some universities/ communities.I have been teaching any age/any level students- from complete beginners to JLPT students. I also teach some casual speech or what’s not on the textbook ( some textbook contains outdated vocabs and grammars)

- Textbook is not everything. Especially my generation speaks differently from older generation. My students are going to gain an ability to adjust the way to communicate depending on the situation, people and time.

Currently looking for the committed students who are able to continue with a long term ( at least 3mo) and hope to be fluent in the future!

My lesson is mainly focused on speaking but since we use Genki textbook, you are eventually required to learn Hiragana and Katakana. ( Kanji is a optional) Once you learn some grammars, we will also start speaking lesson. My goal is to help students become FLUENT and be able to communicate with native speakers.
