Hello, it's a pleasure to e-meet you all! My name is yumi, hailing from Seoul, and I'm eagerly looking forward to teaching enthusiastic Korean learners like you (for intermediate or above proficiency levels).

I've had the privilege of teaching several students for over a year, ranging from toddlers to adults, each with their unique personalities and abilities. Adapting my teaching methods to suit each student's learning style has helped me become a seasoned tutor.

During my teaching journey, I've come to realize that a passionate teacher can ignite the same passion in their students. As I gained more experience, I found genuine joy and happiness in the interactions with my students. In Korean, there's a word called "인연" which signifies the destined connections we make with people throughout our lives. Building such strong and precious connections with my students is what I aspire to achieve.

Outside of teaching, I tend to be a bit of a homebody, finding comfort in quiet moments and enjoying my own company. However, I also enjoy unwinding by diving into YouTube videos, Netflix shows, movies, and games. Occasionally, I'll step out of my comfort zone to join friends for lively gatherings or parties.

Before we begin our lessons, I'd love to hear about your learning experiences, goals, as well as your hobbies and interests. This will help me tailor our lessons to suit your needs and make them more engaging for you. Here are some examples of what I can offer:

Vocabulary: We can mark the words you've newly learned in each session or work on memorizing a list of significant words. I'll create a test with example sentences that include the words you've studied. Expanding your vocabulary is crucial as it lays the foundation for constructing sentences.

Listening: You can choose a short video or audio file to listen to before and during our session. During our session, I'll highlight useful idioms or commonly used expressions. I can also provide a dictation test if you're interested.

Speaking: We can practice speaking by setting a theme or doing role plays. Alternatively, we can discuss topics from videos you've watched during listening practice. I'll take notes during our speaking exercises to help you identify any major mistakes for review later.

Writing: You can keep a diary, summarize articles you've read, or write reviews of movies you've watched. Any form of writing is welcome, and you can treat it as homework. I'll proofread your writing outside of class and provide feedback later.

TOPIK Preparation: If you're preparing for the TOPIK exam, you can take a mock test before our session. Mark any items you found confusing or got wrong and send them to me in advance. During our sessions, we'll review these items in detail.

Please note that our classes will mostly be conducted in Korean to provide you with as many opportunities as possible to be exposed to the language. This immersive approach will help enhance your learning experience.

Korean learning... isn't it difficult? Without a doubt, it is, even for a native speaker like me. But because of that, I think you who are diligently learning are truly remarkable and amazing.

However, studying, which is already difficult doesn't have to be boring, right? So, I'll help make your learning a little more enjoyable. (^-^)/
