Hi everyone!

My name is Riina. I come from Finland originally, but I live in Estonia, where I have now lived for many years.

I’m here on Preply to teach Finnish and Estonian. Apart from teaching, I enjoy playing the piano, flute and accordion. I also enjoy hiking and exploring new places, be it abroad or in Estonia or Finland. All the more so, I’m of course always interested to hear about other people’s interests as well, so I’m sure we will find plenty to discuss about!

I would love to offer you a trial lesson, where we could discuss your motives and goals in learning Finnish or Estonian.

In Finnish I teach students of all levels. In Estonian I can confidently assist you with beginner levels (A1-A2) and pre-intermediate level (B1).

I will tailor the Finnish and Estonian classes according to each student’s needs. So in that sense, there are many options! Among some things that my lessons usually entail:

-Reading texts with key words vocabularies

-Listening exercises with key words vocabularies

-Grammar exercises

-Discussion exercises of mixed topics as well as of the texts and listening exercises

-Checking homework (if there has been any)

The bottom line is that the lessons will be tailored so that they can fit to each student’s needs, and therefore correspond with the desired level and goals. The language of instruction can be English, Estonian, Finnish or Spanish.

I have experience of tutoring for YKI (Finnish proficiency exam) and I’m happy to assist with that as well, if you’re looking for a teacher to practise for the test specifically.

I teach students of all ages so I’m more than happy to teach children as well!
