About the tutor
Hi, I am Bharti from London.
Above all, my classes are individually and fully-tailored to your specific needs. I will listen and plan accordingly. I take my students´ objectives very seriously. I truly believe faster results come when the learning experience is enjoyable. So, my lessons are fun and effective.
Previously a Cambridge University English Examiner specialising in Cambridge English First (B2) and Cambridge English Advanced (C1), although I teach all levels and all ages, other exams and conversation classes too. I am a native British speaker with a clear (RP) pronunciation with past business experience.
I have a Cambridge University CELTA teaching English qualification (2005) and have been teaching continuously since then. I like meeting new people and helping them with their English language success. During the Covid pandemic, I have perfected my online teaching. Although, I still do teach in a “real” classroom.
I excel at exam preparation for students, in particular the speaking- having been an examiner. Also, writing; where my corrections and suggestions are valued. Although, I would say my greatest strength is grammar- directing students to the correct answer, rather than just saying an answer is wrong, explaining why and teaching where necessary.
I have a wealth of material prepared to use in class and I currently also use the Macmillian Ready for First and Ready for Advanced course books.
Do you want to build your career and increase your confidence in English? My students´ success is the key reason why I love teaching so much. Other reasons are students obtaining high marks in exams, being able to communicate in different situations for example while travelling and being able to make new friends from other countries, or defend themselves in a crisis situation such as needing to visit a hospital for emergency treatment.
There is no reward greater than ex-students contacting you years later and asking you to teach their own children! Many of my friends today have been former students.

Do you want a crash course or learn calmly over time? Learn top tips and techniques to prepare for the exam; that is, how to do each part of the exam well to achieve a higher mark. My students have this objective and we work together to achieve it. All parts are practised, I have the material prepared, we can identify problem areas and learn how to overcome them. We can even turn "the horrible parts" into your favourite parts of the exam!

English for work
Having worked in a large business in London for a number of years, I am very familiar with this style and how to move appropriately from formal to neutral to informal English. English for presentations, reports and CVs too. With practise you can feel comfortable from the boardroom to speaking to your colleagues.
English for beginners
It's not just kids who start at this level! Adults need to learn English too. There's no better way to start than with games and activities that can give you a boost in confidence and motivate you to learn more, faster. Learning should always be fun.
Intensive English
I regularly do intensive speaking courses, and specialise in exam preparation (Cambridge English First - FCE, Cambridge English Advanced - CAE, Cambridge English Proficiency -CPE)
British English
I am a native English speaker from London. I have RP (Received Pronunciation) pronunciation, some people might call it BBC English or the Queen´s English - I guess that should be King´s English now, with the death of our beloved Queen Elizabeth. You can watch my video.
English for traveling
Travelling is a great reason to learn English, whether it's just the basics of getting through airport security, speaking to a fellow traveller, or communicating in an emergency. I have travelling experiences where I have learnt so much, I would love to pass some of this on to you.
