My name is Daniel and I am a native English speaker from the United Kingdom - a small town just outside London to be precise. I am a fully certified TEFL teacher, with a Level 5 Diploma, and I also hold a BSc in Environmental Science.

I specialise in teaching Business English and IELTS/TOEFL preparation, but I can assist you with any type of English course or subject you are pursuing! I have a native Southern England accent.

I am an avid traveller and have spent a lot of time both living and working in foreign countries, particularly in Asia and Africa. In addition to teaching English, I am also a certified project manager by profession, and have extensive experience working in the up and coming e-mobility sector. My wife is from Tanzania, so I also speak Swahili as a second language at an intermediate conversational level!

Prior to gaining my TEFL qualification, I spent 3 years tutoring English informally to adult students wishing to improve and hone their conversational skills. I have also spent time teaching primary school students in rural Tanzania, part of which was spent teaching English. A key motivator for me teaching English is to see the improvement and growing confidence in my students over time - this always brings a smile to my face!

As a teacher I aim to be as open and as flexible as possible. I believe it is crucial to fully understand a student's requirements and current level from our first meeting to ensure that the teaching material can be fully tailored for the student. Understanding my students' learning styles is equally important. I will always semi-prepare lessons in advance although I avoid working to rigid guidelines and formats as I believe that this stifles learning and creativity.
