Bonjour! I’m Léonie. Ready to start the journey of learning a new language?
I’m a French-Canadian, born in Montréal and currently living in Berlin. I have studied political science in Canada. Today, I am a music teacher and a French teacher in the German capital. I love to teach, it is truly a passion. I have been teaching piano for the last 5 years and I started language teaching one and a half year ago. I also like to learn. I am currently learning German, as a fourth language.
I have travelled a lot, which, perhaps, fed my motivation to help travellers, and others, get to know a new language and, therefore, dive into a new culture.
With more than a year of experience, I know how to truly help someone with french langage.
I find grammar to be exhausting to learn sometimes. Therefore, I like it to be part of the lesson instead of being the point of the lesson. I like conversation-based courses where we use real-life situation. It is, to me, the most efficient way to master a language. Getting to know your profession, your hobbies and your passions will also help me structure the lesson. I want to make sure you learn the words you will most likely use often!
I am looking for mi-term or long-term students, so I can really get to know them and adjust properly the lessons. I carefully prepare each one of the lessons, according to the needs of the student. For example, I usually get to know the hobbies and passions of children to make sure the lesson is interesting to them. With adults, I always make sure I know their specific needs. The lesson can be grammar-oriented. It can be conversation-oriented. It can also be both!
During our first lesson, I can really get to know your needs, your language level and the rhythm you wish to have.

Conversational French
As a native french speaker, I am able to provide conversational courses. For advanced students that wish to perfect their accent, flow, ease, vocabulary, etc. For beginner students that wish to skip on the grammar and theory of the language.
French for beginners
I offer courses that follow the progress of the student. According to his rhythm, i provide classes with adjusted content.
Intensive French
I have often helped students to reach a specific goal in a specific period of time. I offer classes that will get the student ready for an upcoming trip in a French speaking location, for a certain exam to pass, for a new job that is starting soon, etc. With 3 to 5 meetings a week, i make sure the student gets the confidence required to be confortable with the french language.
General French
For many people, learning french has nothing to do with their job and the location they live in. Perhaps, the goal is to simply get to know a beautiful language, get your brain to work and be able to communicate during travels and vacations. In that case, learning "casual french" may become very practical.
Canadian French
As a native French-Canadian, I offer my student the opportunity to specify their abilities. I can help the student to understand and speak the french from Québec.
