Hello, my name is Christine, and I am from South Africa. I like reading, hiking and the ocean, and I have travelled widely.

I teach English on pre-intermediate level and above.

I have bachelor's and a postgraduate degree in law and a 120hr TEFL certificate. I have experience in family, contractual, and insurance law. I was a legal advisor at a large insurance company for a number of years; and, having appeared in court, I am experienced in public speaking, as well as structuring arguments and presentations.

I also have almost 17 years’ experience in education. My decision to transition from law was driven by my belief that everyone, irrespective of their background, deserves a quality education.

I established an education centre for disadvantaged children (non-native English speakers) in South Africa. I managed the centre for over 15 years, before I moved to Thailand in 2022, where I taught at an international school for one year. My experience has given me a deep understanding of working with young learners.

I have strong language skills and I am good at crafting and editing letters and documents. Thanks to my studies at school and university, I understand some German and I can have very simple conversations in German.

I have over 2 years online teaching experience with secondary school children and adults.

I strongly believe that a teacher's enthusiasm is vital for inspiring student learning. Interactive, engaging lessons help students to absorb and retain information.

My patience and understanding, coupled with my ability to ease nervous students, make me a teacher who is attuned to the unique needs of each student and I adapt my teaching style to match this.

My legal background enables me to connect with people on all levels and various backgrounds.

My teaching style is structured but informal. I create interactive and engaging lessons that make the learning experience enjoyable and memorable.

I believe in letting students to do most of the talking, as this is how a language becomes embedded in a student’s memory and, as we say in English, practice makes perfect!
