About the tutor

Hello, my name is Celine and I'm a native speaker from Cameroon. I am a good communicator and can communicate fluently in English. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Anthropology and a 120hours TEFL certificate. Besides that, I have 5 years of teaching experience and I equally understand how challenging it is to learn a second language. I always make use of my language learning experience to help my students attain their goals.

I love cooking, watching movies and reading poetic and scientific books.

If I am to describe myself in three only, I would choose enthusiasm, drive and commitment and this is also true about my personal life and teaching.

I am committed to my roles as a teacher and above all, I am very friendly, approachable, flexible and open-minded when it comes to different situations

I have over 5 years of teaching experience. I am a trained teacher with TEFL certification.

My methodology is very simple. I always prepare lessons taking into consideration each student's age, preferences, interests, goals, and level. I do this to make sure that my students get personalized lessons to help them reach their individual goals for learning English. In all my classes, I always make sure that my students have a good command of all the English skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing).

My lessons are very practical. Students will learn how to use English in real life situations. That's why sometimes I teach them some English slangs, proverbs, and idiomatic expressions.

I focus on increasing my students fluency by correcting them only when they are done speaking.

I always reduce my teacher talking time and increase my student talking time. This allows students to talk more in class because most of them never get to speak English out of class. For some, the classroom is the only place where they practice their English.

I always give my students homework like reading texts, watching videos, grammar exercises, vocabulary exercises, etc. This helps them practice out of class.

Conversational English
The essence of language learning is communication. We will discuss interesting topics and I will correct your pronunciation and grammar errors and explain some rules after you speak. The focus will be to help you improve your fluency in English. Most students don't have the opportunity to practice their spoken English out of class. These conversational classes will serve as a means for you to speak, speak and speak. We will talk about a lot of things ranging from social, economic, cultural to general issues. This will help you increase your vocabulary in various topics and make you feel comfortable having small talk in these areas. The topics discussed will also be related to your area of interest. Business English
These lessons are focused on workplace communication. You will learn and use business concepts, expressions and vocabulary. We will discuss potential small talk topics in the workplace so that you will know how to have them with your colleagues. The lessons will also focus on some professional writings like emails, letters, reports, etc. You will also learn how to ask requests in the office, how to give feedback, share opinion, do presentations, how to communicate during a meeting at work. You will equally learn how to communicate with your customers in English. The classes are related to your line of business except you ask otherwise. In all lessons, there will be pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar corrections.
IELTS
We will focus more on revising past questions together and improving your writing, speaking, listening and reading competences. We will focus on the different sections of the IELTS exam so that you can be familiarized yourself with the structure of the exam. I will give you writing homework and we will discuss it in class. I will teach you how to write a coherent, cohesive, and organized essay in English. I will ask you some questions and you will give the answers or share your opinion within a time limit. My aim for this is to help you practice like you were having the exam already. This exercise will also help you improve your fluency. You will also get lots of reading and listening exercises for homework.
English for work
We will discuss workplace communication. You will learn business concepts and expressions. You will learn some professional writings like emails, letters, reports, etc. Every discussion is related to your field of work except you ask otherwise. You will learn how to communicate with your coworkers, managers, directors, customers and business partners in English. You will learn expressions, phrases or vocabulary related to your work. All you have to do is to tell me about your area of work so that I can prepare specific lessons for you.
English for beginners
We will learn some basic grammar concepts and practice them in exercises and speaking.
American English
We will learn the American accent and pronunciation. We will also discuss the differences between American English accent and other accents like British and Australian, thereby helping you to focus on the one you find fitting for your needs.
Intensive English
We will focus on a lot of practical exercises to improve writing, speaking, reading and listening skills. I will also give you a lot of homework.
