Hello my name is Melat and I am from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I'm currently a bachelor student in Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence at Tilburg University, Netherlands. I believe language is a gateway that opens our eyes to the intricacy's of different cultures, traditions and community's. As an Ethiopian it is of great significance to me that we preserve our culture and most importantly our languages to safely pass on to the next generation. Moreover, we must ensure that we remain connected with our languages specifically for those in the diaspora community abroad.

I have a bilingual diploma form the international baccalaureate diploma program. I have lived in Addis for most of my life and not only do i have an adequate understanding of the Amharic language but also the culture embedded in the language. Although, this will be my first time teaching officially I am confident that i will be able to guide you in your journey of understanding the Amharic language.
