I hold a M.A. in Applied Linguistics and a certificate of teaching Mandarin Chinese as a second/foreign language issued in Taiwan. I am currently a PhD candidate focusing on developing teaching material and methods, and communicative competence of learners and methods.

I have been teaching Chinese at all levels for 15 years at universities and online. My duties at the current position also include creating and establishing curricula and training new teachers.

My teaching philosophy is to create a safe, motivating, and enjoyable place where learners can see their own progression and know that they are allowed to make as many errors as they want without feeling frustrated, and I am there to help.

In our classes, you will have a great amount of chances to practice and ask questions. EmpIrical studies have shown that the keys to successful language acquisition are comprehensive input and output. Through our interaction and activities, you will be able to understand grammar rules, communication skills and at the same time, get used to speaking Chinese. I design systematic interactive activities (Q&A, role play, ask me anything, guess who, treasure hunts, etc.) for you to get familiar with the new vocabulary and sentence patterns.
