I am an experienced online English tutor. I have taught English writing and speaking for over 12 years.
I specialize in the Cambridge B2, C1, C2, and IELTS professional exams and the application of English in International Business.
I focus on Speaking, which includes pronunciation, extended vocabulary and diction. I also focus on Writing, which includes special attention to grammar and punctuation.
I come from a 40-year career as an International Insurance Loss Adjuster.
I have over 12 years of experience as an online English tutor and hold TEFL certification to Level 5.
Today's job market is very competitive. Employers often demand strong English skills. This applies to basic speech, the skill of joining delicate English discussions, and the competency of offering detailed, well-prepared reports in flawless English. To use the idiom "the proof of the pudding is in the eating," success in any exam above counts as enough proof.
Yet, I have had many students who only want to improve their English. We often have fun discussing topics ranging from business to who will win the race to Mars.

My speciality is Conversational English, particularly for IELTS, Cambridge exams and Business needs. I place an emphasis on correct pronunciation and grammar when speaking.
Business English
I coach senior Business Management with reasonable English ability to develop their skills and feel confident in an English Business surrounding. This includes preparation for BEC Vantage and Higher examinations.
IELTS
I coach students in preparation for IELTS exams and encourage them to reach for the highest scoring Bands. I will show students how to create the written exercises and abide by the Writing and Speaking Descriptors, which outline the elements an examiner seeks.
English for work
English is now recognised as the international language for business. Indeed in some countries, because there are so many indigenous languages, English is used as the one common to all. Conversational English that I offer helps students to blend in with their work colleagues.
British English
I only coach using British English and specialise in correct pronunciation and diction.
English job interview prep
I regularly help students prepare for job interviews. We jointly determine the form the interview will take and then, using role play, reherse the interview until the student feels confident.
Cambridge ESOL: FCE, CAE, CPE...
I work with international students studying for IELTS, Cambridge First (FCE), Cambridge C1 Advanced, and Cambridge C2 Proficiency (CPE). I concentrate mainly on the Writing and Speaking elements of each exam, paying particular attention to the Grade Descriptors applied when marking the exam papers.
