Hey! I'm Sylvia!

The past three years I've taught over 150 people and have successfully helped them reach their goal of being able to speak and understand Greek!

ABOUT ME:

I have a BSc in Psychology and have studied Positive Psychology & Life Coaching. Besides tutoring, I also work as an Authenticity Coach and a model. I'm passionate about philosophy, having deep conversations, discussing cultural differences between Greece and the country of my students and so much more! I love meeting people from all over the world, learning about their culture and teaching them about mine!

I have three years of experience and have worked with 150+ people. Everyone is different so my teaching style adapts to the needs, goals, abilities, personality and current level of the student I have in front of me. Regardless of your level, learning greek is very much POSSIBLE.

MY PERSONALITY:

I am very laid back, and conduct the lessons in a relaxed and friendly way, as I believe that the strict student-teacher dynamic is discouraging and old fashioned, and does not allow the person who decides to learn a language to do the work for themselves but instead, feel pressured to do it for the teacher. Sounds familiar? Forget about that with me.

I will motivate you, reward you, encourage you and be very very patient with you. However, I will not sugar coat anything, I'll make sure to keep it real and hold you accountable when you may slip back. You chose to be in this journey and I'll keep reminding you who you chose it for. YOU :)

I'M THE BEST TUTOR FOR YOU IF:

- You're starting from scratch

Most of the people I've taught Greek to start from scratch so I have a lot of experience on how to take you from point 0 to fluent, and I will, if you put in the work, guaranteed.

- You want to improve your grammar.

As difficult as Greek grammar may be, I've created a way to explain the tenses/cases etc as simply as it gets. Grammar is my strong point

- Your knowledge of greek is a bit.. all over the place and you don't know where to start.

We will happily figure out where you are and what you need together! I will assess what it is that we should work on that will lead you to your desired goal and we'll get to work!

- You just need someone to practice speaking Greek with so you don't lose the language.

Note: I exclusively teach adults and adolescents. I do not teach children younger than 15 y/o.

Learning a new language might seem difficult but I believe that when you learn it with a friend it makes it a lot easier and fun. I'm a relaxed tutor who doesn't enjoy having a strict teacher-student dymanic. I try to make things like grammar simple and understandable, and help you build confidence with speaking!
